COVID-19 Safety Protocol

Here at Family Chiropractic we are striving to maintain a clean and safe environment to the greatest of our ability. Because we believe in the validity and necessity of our care to the public, we are choosing to stay open as long as possible.

Unlike many public environments, our clinic remains a very safe space to continue administering care, as we are constantly disinfecting our facility and equipment.

Safety Precautions

We are taking the following additional safety precautions to limit exposure and spreading:

  • In addition to our standard levels of hospital-grade sterilization and disinfection after every patient visit, our team is disinfecting common areas every 15 minutes, including waiting room chairs, door handles and the front desks. More specifically, we are:
    • Sanitizing table surfaces with a medical-grade cleaner
    • Using gloves for every treatment
    • Limit conversing with patients when they are lying face up on table
    • Wearing a mask when adjusting at-risk patients
    • Sanitizing waiting room chairs
    • Sanitizing pens, clipboards and all other items that patients and staff touch
    • We have taken out all waiting room books, toys, magazines and pillows from the clinic common areas in order to minimize congregation and reduce communal contact surfaces.
  • Maintaining 6 foot social distancing radius by rooming patients as soon as possible and removing waiting room chairs to ensure social distancing for patients.
  • Staffing max number of employees to reduce wait times so patients don’t spend prolonged time in waiting room
  • Removal of iPad check-in station
  • Staff wears gloves when cleaning and interacting with patients
  • Closure of intersegmental roller table rooms
  • Patients are asked questionnaire either on the phone or in person upon presenting to the clinic If any of the answers “yes”, they are asked to leave immediately. The questionnaire includes:
    • If you have a fever, or even mild flu like symptoms, or if you have traveled to a high-risk area outside the United States, such as China, South Korea, Iran, Europe (Schengen Area), United Kingdom and Ireland, please call the office to reschedule your appointment until after you have at least 14 days of being symptom free.
  • We have discontinued all massage therapy services until allowed again by State of MN
  • We have a thermometer available for screening for fevers
  • We recommend that the at-risk population either postpone treatments if for wellness care. If an acute neuromusculoskeletal complaint arises, we will make accomodation at a designated time to limit their exposure from other patients.
  • Per the recommendation from State and National Governing Boards, it is recommended that only Acute, Neuromusculoskeletal complaints be treated at this time. Patients receiving care for only wellness/maintenance without complaint are asked to postpone their visits to a later date.
  • No cancellation fees or penalties will be applied to patients who are unable to come in to their appointments
  • Following the published guidelines to help stop unintended spread of COVID-19, we are closing off our reception area to non-essential family members.
    • To minimize the number of people in our office, we respectfully request that you do not bring siblings, friends, or relatives to your family member’s appointment. When parents are accompanying children, we ask that only one parent, rather than both, attend with your child.
  • Hand sanitizer has been placed throughout the office for your use. Please use it when entering and leaving our office.

Thank you for your time to read our update. Thank you for your understanding during this challenging time. We appreciate you and look forward to seeing you soon! We will get through this together.
