COVID-19 Safety Protocol

Here at Family Chiropractic we are striving to maintain a clean and safe environment to the greatest of our ability. The health and safety of our patients, staff and visitors at our office are very important. We review changes regularly, and incorporate information from the CDC, Minnesota Department of Health, Minnesota Chiropractic Association (MCA) and updates through local media.

Safety Precautions

We are taking the following additional safety precautions to limit exposure and spreading:

  • In addition to our standard levels of hospital-grade sterilization and disinfection after every patient visit, our team is disinfecting common areas multiple times throughout adjusting shifts, including waiting room chairs, door handles and the front desks. More specifically, we are:
    • Sanitizing table surfaces with a medical-grade cleaner
    • Using gloves or hand sanitizer for every treatment
    • Limit conversing with patients when they are lying face up on table
    • Wearing a mask or shield
    • Sanitizing waiting room chairs
    • Sanitizing pens, clipboards and all other items that patients and staff touch
    • We have taken out all waiting room books, toys, magazines and pillows from the clinic common areas in order to minimize congregation and reduce communal contact surfaces.
  • Maintaining 6 foot social distancing radius by rooming patients as soon as possible and removing waiting room chairs to ensure social distancing for patients.
  • Staffing max number of employees to reduce wait times so patients don’t spend prolonged time in waiting room
    .
  • Removal of iPad check-in station.
  • Staff wears gloves when cleaning and interacting with patients.
  • A line on floor at front desk is meant to maintain a 6 foot distance between staff and patients as they are being helped.
  • Patients are asked questionnaire either on the phone or in person upon presenting to the clinic If any of the answers “yes”, they are asked to leave immediately. The questionnaire includes:
    • If you have an upcoming visit or are wanting to schedule and are experiencing any of the following symptoms, please call the office and reschedule for a later date. It is also our recommendation that you enter a 2-week self-quarantine.
    • If you have a fever (100.4F), mild flu like symptoms, difficulty breathing or cough, bronchitis, respiratory infection, sore throat, shortness of breath, digestive complaints (including vomiting and diarrhea, severe fatigue not associated with travel, myalgia, and/or arthralgia.
    • If you have traveled to a high-risk area, please call the office to reschedule your appointment until after you have at least 14 days of being symptom-free.
  • We have a thermometer available for screening for fevers
  • We recommend that the at-risk population either postpone treatments if for wellness care. If an acute neuromusculoskeletal complaint arises, we will make accommodation at a designated time to limit their exposure from other patients. They will also be seen in our at-risk designated room that has the lowest number of patient visits per day.
  • Following the published guidelines to help stop unintended spread of COVID-19, we are closing off our reception area to non-essential family members.
    • To minimize the number of people in our office, we respectfully request that you do not bring siblings, friends, or relatives to your family member’s appointment. When parents are accompanying children, we ask that only one parent, rather than both, attend with your child.
  • Hand sanitizer has been placed throughout the office for your use. Please use it when entering and leaving our office.

Massage therapy has been available again at the clinic. The following precautions have been taken:

  • Removal of heating pad on table which allows for thorough sanitization of the table between patient visits.
  • Blankets are one-time use only.
  • Therapists wear masks. Patients may use masks, but are not required to.
